GoldenGate & ODI CDC

765115Oct 20 2010 — edited Oct 20 2010
We have a requirement to replicate data from a Central database (Oracle) to multiple regional databases (also Oracle) at real-time. The plan is to use GoldenGate for this.

I came across this white paper (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/data-integrator/overview/odiee-km-for-oracle-goldengate-133579.pdf) which talks about the advantages of using ODI CDC (Change Data Capture) with GoldenGate for data replication. However I don't understand what specific advantage I would enjoy by using ODI (along with GoldenGate) here. No data transformation is needed during replication at the target in my case.

Given this, can someone help me understand if ODI would really help in my scenario specifically ? Also what is the scenario in which the combination of ODI & GoldenGate can help and in what way would it make things better ?
