Getting Started With Oracle SOA Suite 11g R1 – A Hands-On Tutorial
There is a problem with this book advertised by Oracle and sold by Pack Publishing and Amazon.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/soasuite/11gthebook-101473.html
http://astore.amazon.com/oraclebooks-20/detail/184719978X
http://www.packtpub.com/getting-started-with-oracle-soa-suite-11g-r1/book
On page 44 authors of the books are instructing reader to download specific set of files otherwise system and examples won't work:
2. Go to: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/soa/soasuite/index.html,
and download the following from SOA Suite 11g Release 1(11.1.1.1.0) to c:\stageSOA:
- WebLogic Server: wls1031_win32.exe
- Repository Creation Utility: ofm_rcu_win32_11.1.1.1.0_disk1_1of1.zip
- SOA Suite: ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.1.0_disk1_1of1.zip
- JDeveloper Studio, base install: jdevstudio11111install.jar
Link for the examples is OK
"To use this book, you need to download the artifacts zip file. "
http://download.oracle.com/technology/products/soa/soasuite/books/SOA11g_GettingStarted.zip
But link for
"You also need to download the SOA Suite installation files."
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/soasuite/downloads/downloads-085394.html#11g
Will actually open "Free Oracle SOA Suite 12c Installations". The oldest version which could be normally found on Oracle site is 11.1.1.7 but throught some tutorials there are links to 11.1.1.5.0 version of SOA suite and JDeveloper. Links for downloading Oracle XE 10 doesn't exist any more either.
So, why don't you either remove your webpage where you promote this book:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/soasuite/11gthebook-101473.html
or you provide necessary files for setting up system required by this book?
Otherwise it is useless off because you promote book, Packt Publishing and Amazon are selling the book but readers actually can't use it.
Moreover "Post your questions, comments, and errata on the SOA Team blog" page https://blogs.oracle.com/SOA/2009/10/our_book_getting_started_with.html also don't exist, so update link at this page http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/soasuite/11gthebook-101473.html or delete it at all.
