getting email notifiaction for an failed dba_job

We have a problem on our 10g R2 DB (running on suse linux).
We have several dba_jobs in the database. Yesterday it appeared that one dba_job can´t be executed because the sequence the procedure uses arrived max_value.
When a dba_job failes ORA-12012 will be written in the Oracle alert log of the DB.
Nice overview for this: http://www.lifeaftercoffee.com/2006/01/23/scheduling-jobs-using-oracles-job-queue/
Now I read something about email notification for errors and about setting up notification rules and monitoring errors and about metrics:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/server.101/b10726/monitor.htm#sthref537
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/em.101/b12016/chap_systems_monitoring.htm#sthref157
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/em.101/b12016/chap_systems_monitoring.htm#sthref162
And an alternative:
http://www.dbasupport.com/oracle/ora9i/alert_log.shtml
(something like manually email notification!?)
But I don´t know how to do it.
We want to get an email when a ORA-12012 (dba_job failed) appears the first time.
What have I to do, to get such an email notification for this alert??
Thanks for helping ... :)
