get Name and Lastname letter

Hi

How I do to get the Fist name and the Fist letter of the last name from Full name Field and viceversa?

Full name                     Name
John Smith                    John S
Charles Daimond               Charles D
TransAtlantic Services ABC    TransAtlantic S

Full name                     Name
John Smith                    J Smith
Charles Daimond               C Daimon
TransAtlantic Services ABC    T Services
