Get File Name of file by File/FTP adapter

Hi,

I have a requirement by which I can manage the status of files being processed by file adapter. As File adapter is providing the facility to process files matches to wild card, is there any way by which I can get the complete file name of file.
I saw some blogs stating that ftp adapter can do it but I couldn't get file name even using ftp adapter.
