Get Environment variable value in adf

Hi Experts

Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7

Weblogic server 10.3.6

we sued System.getenv(variable name) in managed bean for getting value of  System environment variable value. but when we changing this variable value, we need to restart system to get new value in managed bean. is there alternatives for System.getenv or can we able to get new value without restarting the system.
