Geometries, collection - type 2004, 2007

Is it possible to find out how many geometries contains geometry
(type 2004 collection, type 2007 multipolygon). Some piece of source code will be appreciated.
Note: Question concern 9.2.0.8 oracle database.
Oracle 10G contain SDO_UTIL.GETNUMELEM function.
