Enterprise Manager

hi guys.
am planning on using OEM as my tool for capacity planning. So I was thinking of installing the db and repository on a unix box from which all the databases could access.
My question is that if i connect to the repository using a client, discover node, set jobs to run, collect statistics for capacity planning, .... what will happen if ai disconnect (exit)from the client machine? Will the collection of the statistics stop or will continue to run in background? Am asking this kind of questions as i was thinking implementing OEM tool of capacity planning and all the rest.
Any one care to shade some light?
