General Questions about JES installation

796344Jan 18 2006 — edited Feb 11 2020
Hello all,

I was looking to get a little advice in the general installation of JES, that is how should the software be split up on the servers. I am going to be moving from IMS5.2 on HP-UX to the lastest JES on Solaris.

I have to come up with quotes for new machines fairly soon, or I would do more reading myself. I thought that maybe somebody would offer their opinion (hint Jay).

Here is a little info about how many accounts and the mail load that we have. We have roughly 25,000 accounts and process 250,000 emails in a 24 hour time frame. From 8-5 everyday we have about 1000 imap connections and 500 webmail connections. A few pop users linger around ugh.

What I ws thinking of was getting a V890 for the messaging server itself and then 2 v210 servers to run the LDAP servers. One being the Supplier and the Second being a Consumer. I know the identy server needs to be installed on a server and was thinking about putting it on the Supplier ldap server.

Anybody got any recommendations?

Thanks,

Gary
