Gemxpresso Pro with GPshell

843851Nov 2 2007 — edited Mar 12 2010
Hi Everyone,
I have just downloaded GPshell1.3.1 and I was going through the documentation. I found that to open a secure channel with a Gemxpresso Pro card, one has to set genXpressPro and specify the master (mother) key. In some forums, in the script files, I saw that the key is specified as "0x40....0x4f". i.e

open_sc -security 1 -keyind 0 -keyver 0 -mac_key 404142434445464748494a4b4c4d4e4f -enc_key 404142434445464748494a4b4c4d4e4f // Open secure channel

My doubt is that, whether the master (mother) key is common for all gemXpresso Pro cards. Or is it something that we get when we buy the cards? I read that only 10 tries are available for this "mutual authentication", so I am being cautious before plugging my card in. By the way, the set up is as follows: GPshell1.3.1, SCM SCR3310 reader and GemXpresso R3 32k.

Thanks so much,
Regards.
