Gateway Timeout error when using VPN

Hi,
I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.
I can launch the JSF page that retrives the data from the database when using internal network. (i.e. from the office)

When working from home, I'm using VPN to connect to the database.
However, with VPN, I am getting
"504 Gateway Timeout
The following error occurred: [code=GATEWAY_TIMEOUT] A gateway timeout occurred. The server is unreachable. Retry the request."

Is there any settup I need to do? Thanks. John
