Garbage from Ultra 60 serial port - won't boot
807557Jun 5 2006 — edited Jun 23 2006I have an Ultra 60 that won't boot. It won't even start POST. I connected a PC to the serial port and confirmed that the terminal emulation works by connecting it to another Ultra 60 that works fine. The POST information displayed properly.
Unfortunately, the Ultra 60 that doesn't work displays nothing but garbage from the TTY port when the system is turned on. I tried various baud, parity, and stop bit settings thinking that the previous owner might have changed those settings, but I still get only garbage to the terminal.
Any ideas on where to look or how to possibly set the terminal settings back to the standard 9600 8/N/1?
