GamePanel help!!

Hey, I recently bought a book from O'Rielly called: Killer Game Programming in java. In the book it talks about using GamePanel.
Does any one know how to use GamePanel, or how to make one..it says it's a subclass from JPanel, but i haven't found anything on how to open one or display one or anything. Any help would be nice!!
