FTPS, java 1.4.2 and ftp over ssl

i have found some topics about this, but no solution. I try first a normal connection and then a secure connection ---> hang on handshake.
I need a explicit so i must first a normal connection.
Is there now a solution?, or can someone send me a working example.( or can help me?)
I am a Student, so i don't use commercial solution.
