ftp error : Connection closed by remote host

trying to put oracle binaries from my desktop to remote host , getting this error, also tried with winscp, not getting anywhere , any idea

ftp> put as_aix_oim_oif_101401_disk2.cpio
200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for as_aix_oim_oif_101401_disk2.cpio

Netout :Software caused connection abort

Connection closed by remote host.
