Freeup space in Linux

Beauty_and_dBestJun 18 2017 — edited Jun 20 2017

Hi ALL,

OL6, RHEL6

Our root "/" folder is almost 100% full.

[root@r12 Server]# df -h

Filesystem      Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on

/dev/xvda1      9.8G  8.9G  787M  93% /

I want to free-up some space. Which file should I cleanup or delete?

Can I delete  the "yum" folder?

[root@r12 6Server]# pwd

/var/cache/yum/x86_64/6Server

[root@fitr12 6Server]# du -s *

83100   epel

5143460 ol6_latest

469000  ol6_UEK_latest

72      rhui-REGION-client-config-server-6

568748  rhui-REGION-rhel-server-releases

19652   rhui-REGION-rhel-server-releases-optional

996     rhui-REGION-rhel-server-rh-common

5616    rhui-REGION-rhel-server-rhscl

2336    virtualbox

Please help....

Kind regards,

jc
