FRA Available Space Stays Same Even After Deleting Obsolete Backups

hi experts,

This is 11.2 g on Windows.

I use RMAN for backing up this database. But my problem is that the FRA Flash Recovery Area size has almost reached its max.

Even after changing the recovery window to fewer number of days.

I then deleted obsolete backups. The files were deleted .... but the "Usable Flash Recovery Area" % on the Db Control home page did not change.

I'm now at 21 % available FRA space and I'm concerned because I think the database will lock up when the FRA reaches a certain number.

So... how can I force the FRA to recognize the recovered space ??
