Forms/Reports on WebLogic 12.2.1.3: Questions

S-MaxJul 3 2019 — edited Jul 11 2019

Hi all,

I am new to Forms/Reports 12c. My working last WebLogic with Forms/Reports version was 11g, or 10g... I don't know it more...

What do I need - is the WebLogic Server in the newest version with Forms and Reports services without any things like SSO and so one. In the installation documentation I read: now for the forms and reports components I need to create a repository in the database.

Dear friends, would you please give me answers and tips to following my questions:

1. Why do I need the repository??? Is it required for Weblogic server installation with only Forms/Reports services running?

2. If the repository is required, what is better: to install it into an existing database, or to create a new database/PDB only for the repository?

3. If I create a new database on the server, where the weblogic server is running and this databse will be used only for repository, schould i bye the licenses, or can it be licensed with weblogic - like the repository database for Oracle Application Server 10g Enterprise Edition with portal, sso and so one...

4. My production environment will have 6 Weblogic server with forms and reports services. Should I create for every weblogic server a new repository (or db schema), or all weblogic servers can share one repository/db schema?

5. The Developers on Windows PCs schould get the new Forms and Reports Builders. Should I install on each developer pc a weblogic server? Should I create for every developer a repository?

Thank you very much!
