What are you doing to "modernize" your Forms applications? There is no reason to start from scratch or with a different technology. You do understand that there's no reason for your apps to look like they were designed in the 1990's - right? All that's needed is to re-imagine how it could look given today's standards and not the standards of the 1990's.
