Forms 6i -- or whatever -- on Linux

18216Feb 26 2003 — edited Dec 4 2007
Hi all

I have a client that uses linux in their client machines, and I have to develop an client/server app to run in them. It must be a c/s app (not web) because the client does not like the look and feel of a web app (and I must agree that a web app don't ever get close to the productivity of a c/s app).

Forms 9i would be a choice if it was not the problem of 9iAS licensing price, as it has been extensively discussed here.

The only [Oracle] solution I see is using Forms 6i for linux, but is it practical? Does it really work, and have the same characteristics of windows version, or have limitations? Someone is using Forms 6i on linux with success?

Any tip or maybe another solution would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Luis Cabral
