forms 6i (6.0.8.26.0) compatibility with 10g (10.2.0.3) database

I am looking for a definitive answer regarding Forms 6i (6.0.8.26.0) compatibility with 10g (10.2.0.3) database. I was instructed to apply patch 17, so I did, but I am still getting the following error. Maybe it's an issue besides compatibility.

FRM-40735 WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-00942

This is happening when I am trying to connect from the client. I think it is a compatibility issue but I'm not 100% sure. My questions...

1) Has anyone else seen these errors in combination on connect?
2) If it is a compatibility issue... Will applying patch 18 fix this? Or will creating a new database with COMPATIBLE=10.1.0 work?
3) Does anyone have the number for patch 18?
