Forms 12c File Location

Right now we have an Oracle IAS server that runs Forms and Reports 10g. But, we store our Forms and Reports (.fmb, .fmx, .rdf) files on a different file server. Then, when we run the form from the IAS server, we specify the full network path to the file server where the files reside.

When moving to Forms and Reports 12c, we are reconsidering this strategy. Should we store our Forms and Reports (fmb, fmx, rdf) files on the same server as the 12c installation? Or should we stick to using another file server?

Benefits or drawbacks from either would be useful.
