Forms 12c (12.2.1.2.0) Client/DB-Idle Timeout

Manuel PerezFeb 13 2017 — edited May 5 2017

I am trying to configure the DB IdleTimeout for our forms application. I setup an event as described in the New Features white paper and it does not seem to be working properly. Instead of giving me the message I have specified in the When-Event-Raised trigger, I get:

I have tried running the newfeaturescidle form I downloaded from Oracle Support 12c Forms: How to Configure Client Session Idle Timeout (Doc ID 2114912.1) . When I run it after setting the idle time to any value, I do not get the message specified in the When-Event-Raised Trigger, it seems like the trigger is not firing. The situation is the same taking System Client-Idle or System DB-Idle Event Type.

We are testing it in Oracle Linux 6.5, Aix 7.1, Solaris 5.11 and Windows 10. The forms fails in Solaris and Aix, and run properly in Windows 10 and Oracle Linux. I attached the trace obtained in AIX.

In Forms Community Discussions, Mike Deemer in August/September 2016 reported the same problem but it was unanswered and archived.

I don't know what is wrong, or if it is necessary take care about something specific for Solaris and Aix.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Manuel Perez
