Format Mask to display only time while using built in calendar?

Apex 2.1.x on oracle 10g XE on windows XP

I am brand new to this tool.

I need the user to enter time , but display only hh:mi AM/PM values, not the date associated with it. Right now, if I use the in built calendar option, the user selection brings back the date associated with the time selected into the input string.

How do I display only time? Is there a format mask in APEX for it?
