Form Builder,Report Builder importance.

Hi all,
Actually i have heared that form builder and report builder are out date (when talking in terms of web design) java and ASp.net are far better. So pleae can any one teill me is it good to stick to forms and reports or should i switch to java or some other technology

One more thing is it correct that in oracle financials(ERP) uses forms and report and also where can i get the documentations for oracle financials.
