Fonts translation in 10g for Reports on Linux RHEL 5

571725Nov 25 2009 — edited Dec 14 2009
Hi, I have a report that I converted from 6i and 10g. On 6i client/server, I had the fonts "Arial" and "Arial Narrow" used alot on the Windows server and it rendered them back at runtime. However, I converted the same report up to 10g and have output the file to PDF on the screen. I am noticing the "Arial" and "Arial Narrow" fonts are all translating to some other font on Linux for 10g (which is the environment we are switching too).

I am reading commentary on Metalink and on here about having to change the "uifont.ali" file (which I made changes, restarted the server). I commented out the "Arial" line as well but I'm not seeing it.

This is my first time doing this so, I really need some step-by-step instructions on how to get the fonts to show up. The PDF file that is outputted generates on the Linux server so, I'm thinking the fonts are already there. Just need some guidance on how to resolve.

Thanks,
Chris
