Flashing CDROM Light and CDROM unable to eject

I have 2 Ultra 60's running Solaris 2.6, both machines have been physically relocated and since rebooting the CDROM lights are continuosly flashing and the CDROM's cannot be ejected using 'eject cdrom'. When the eject command is entered the following message is returned....

cdrom: Inappropriate ioctl for device

Any help would be gratefully received
