Flashback Retention Target

Gurus,

My Oracle 10.2 settings:
db_flashback_retention_target=720 (12hours)
db_recovery_file_dest_size= 2000000000 (2GB)

Why does my flashback logs go back 36 hours?

Is there a deletion statement to remove the old flashback logs?
