flash recovery area backup sets

sky123May 13 2010 — edited May 14 2010
Hi,

How can I know if an Oracle 11g database has been doing hot backups properly? I am not able to open the database console unless I bounce the database - but I don't want to. The latest folders in the "backupsets" folder shows March XX 2010. Also, no files in the online archived log folder has been deleted by Oracle. Any idea of how to find out if Oracle 11g is doing backup automatically and how to fix the problem. There is only a little bit more than 65GB of disk space in the flash recovery drive.

What usually happened in the past was that, when it ran out of space, the database instance hanged.

Thanks.
Andy
