Flash Recovery Area

Hi:

I am on 10.2.0.3.

I am getting an error related th the fact that size of Flash Recovery Area has reached 97+%. My understanding is that Oracle will adjust that - remove some old and unnecessary files from FRA. My colleague at work insists on increasing the size (we can also decrease the retention_target) - but do we have to keep doing that?
