Fixed-width export

Hi all,

I am new to SQL Developer and have a question about the "Export Data" feature (accessible by right-clicking on a table name, or from a query results grid).

When I used IBM DB2/UDB, the "Command Editor" tool produced results in a fixed-width format, with column headings. I was able to easily cut-and-paste this information into emails or text files. The format was easy to read -- particularly for end users (who are not typically comfortable with delimited files).

I'm trying to work out how to do a similar thing in SQL Developer, but have hit a dead end. It seems I can export to many different formats (csv, text/tab-delim, xml, etc.), but not the one format I'm looking for (i.e. fixed width).

Any ideas?

If SQL Developer is not able to do this, is there a work around (possibly a plug-in, or something along those lines)?

I look forward to your suggestions.

Thanks so much,
Greg
