Firewall Clearance for Oracle Listener port 1521

JimboNov 26 2015 — edited Dec 4 2015

Hi,

I have installed Oracle Linux 7.1 and have an Oracle 11gR2 database running on it. As part of this I have a standard Oracle Listener running on port 1521.

Through the Desktop GUI for the firewall on this server I have set the Runtime and Permanent Configurations for the 'Public' Zone. In the <PORTS> tab for this zone I have included TCP port 1521.

My TNSPING is now allowing me to reach the port but it is immediately cloning the tnsping with TNS-12537 TNS:connection closed.

Q1. How do I properly open port 1521 at the firewall using the GUI ?

Q2. Can this also be done from command line ?

Q3. This is a internal demo system, so really I do not need the firewall at all. However whereas at Oracle Linux 6, I was easily able to deactive the firewall - I am not quite sure how to do thuis in Oracle Linux 7 - any idea ?

thanks

Jim
