find max date query

feb2010 10/10/2010
feb2010 08/10/2010
feb2010 null
march null
aprl2010 11/10/2010
april2010 null

Need the following output. looking for latest paid date. when i do Max(paymentdate) it is returing two rows for feb with 10/10/2010 and null. but i don't want to see null row for february. but for march we don't have anything so we can return null.
