Find databases in a server

Dear gurus.
Im new in this job, anyone here (is a little enterprise) dont know how many databases are in servers. Well, my question is, how can i identify the active or installed databases (start or shutdown) in a server?
And if you have a method in order identify a database in a network (lan) could you tell me?

My server is an AIX 5.1
ORacle db enterprise 9.2
