file descriptor table full

Hey all

I'm getting a lot of these errors on my web server:

[08/Oct/2004:10:25:45] failure ( 9611): HTTP3069: Error accepting connection (PR_PROC_DESC_TABLE_FULL_ERROR: file descriptor table full)

Do u have any idea of what could be happening ?? (and how to solve it)
