Hi,
svcs shows that fc-cache is in maintenance and I can't seem to get it enabled. I tried clearing it. The log shows:
[ Aug 13 10:36:10 Method "start" exited with status 34 ]
[ Aug 13 10:36:18 Leaving maintenance because clear requested. ]
[ Aug 13 10:36:18 Enabled. ]
[ Aug 13 10:36:19 Executing start method ("/usr/bin/fc-cache") ]
"/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts": error scanning
"/usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/Type1": error scanning
"/usr/openwin/lib/locale/KOI8-R/X11/fonts/TrueType/": error scanning
"/usr/openwin/lib/locale/ar/X11/fonts/TrueType/": error scanning
"/usr/openwin/lib/locale/en_US.UTF-8/X11/fonts/misc/": error scanning
"/usr/openwin/lib/locale/iso_8859_13/X11/fonts/75dpi/": error scanning
"/usr/openwin/lib/locale/iso_8859_13/X11/fonts/TrueType/": error scanning
The "error scanning" lines go on for another 20 lines. If I run fc-cache -f -v then fonts are found in those directories and cached without error.
/var/adm/messages shows:
Aug 13 10:36:19 sunfire svc.startd[7]: [ID 652011 daemon.warning] svc:/application/font/fc-cache:default: Method "/usr/bin/fc-cache" failed with exit status 34.
Aug 13 10:36:19 sunfire svc.startd[7]: [ID 748625 daemon.error] application/font/fc-cache:default failed: transitioned to maintenance (see 'svcs -xv' for details)
I don't know what to look at from here.
Thanks,
Doug
