Faulting application rwbuilder.exe

APQJan 13 2009 — edited Jan 19 2009
Hi,

Some of our developers are experimenting a strange behavior of Oracle Reports Builder not related to OS (Windows 2k3 SP2, Windows XP SP3) or Reports Builder versions ( 10.1.2.0.2, 10.1.2.2.0). When they try to open Reports Builder it suddenly terminate. The only log that I have is this one below logged in the Windows Application Event Viewer.

We tried a lot of things, changed some configuration but anything would do. I can't remember why but we started changing the default printer in the user profile and Reports would run or not depending on which printer we choose. Some printer were set to default printer and Reports would run. Other printers set to default printer and Reports would crash with the following error. Strange, don't you think ?

We also tried to uninstall and reinstall the printers. Installing only one printer, none and even remapping them to a new print server.

You'll see that the faulting module is msvcrt.dll but depending on which printer we used as the default one, the faulting module would be msvcrt.dll, ros.dll, winspool.drv.

Did anyone ever got this kind of error ? Please let me know.
Thank you

Francis
