Fast Ethernet NIC HDX / FDX Setting

807559Sep 26 2003 — edited Sep 30 2003
Group,

Trying to force 10Mb FDX on an Ultra 5 and Ultra60.

I've been using tips found in this discussion group to force 10Mb FDX using /etc/system.

With the appropriate entries in /etc/system, the boxes seem to persistently come up one of two ways;

1. without /etc/system set commands;
Boxes come up 10Mb HDX

2. with /etc/system set commands to force 10Mb FDX
Boxes come up 100Mb FDX

The problem is our LAN ports do not support 100Mb and thus connectivity is broken.

Not sure why the set commands keep implementing 100Mb when the 10Mb FDX option is flagged "1" and all other options flagged "0".

Does anyone have insight as to what I missed?

Regards,
