Failure while installing Oracle Linux 9.2 on (old) HP notebook

JAY WIENERNov 14 2023 — edited Nov 19 2023

I am trying to install Oracle Linux 9.2 on an (old) HP notebook Pavilion dv7 model dv7t-1000
Architecture: x86_64
CPU(s): 2
Model name: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9600 @ 2.80GHz
RAM 4 GB
Hard Drive Size 320 GB (all of which can be used for Oracle Linux)

Per the documentation at the Oracle Linux site, it appears that the laptop has sufficient resources to allow the installation, admittedly at the low end of the requirements.
I configured a USB stick with the installation software as instructed and can boot from it; I get a menu allowing me to begin installation process.
When I try to perform install, whether graphics mode or text mode, I get a core dump and an error message:

I am not at all familiar with the architecture etc. of the HP notebook in question, and cannot do anything with the core dump.

I would like to install Oracle Linux on the laptop in question but have been unable to get past this glitch in the process.
Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.
