Failure to plumb IPv4 Interface: hme0

807557Mar 16 2006 — edited Mar 17 2006
Hi,

Apologies if I'm missing something obvious here...

I have an Ultra 30 running Solaris 10 (1/06) recently installed.

When booting I get the following list of messages:-
hme0: DL_ATTACH_REQ failed: DL_BADPPA
hme0: DL_BIND_REQ failed: DL_OUTSTATE
hme0: DL_PHYS_ADDR_REQ failed: DL_OUTSTATE
hme0: DL_NOTIFY_ACK failed: DL_BADPRIM

Failed to plumb IPv4 interface:hme0

Configuring devices

Mar 15 16:43:12 svc.startd[7]: svc: /network/physical:default: Method "/lib/svc/method/net-physical" failed with exit status 96

[ network/physical:default misconfigured (see svcs -x for details) ]

This looks to me as though I've got either the wrong driver for my NIC or the driver is corrupt.

So...
1) Am I posting this in the right forum? (Or should I be posting under "High Performance Networking"?)

2) Am I right in thinking this is a driver issue?

3) How do I find out what NIC I have, what driver it should be using, where to get the correct driver etc.

4) Any other suggestions as to where to look to try to get this machine up & running.

Once again apologies if I'm missing something obvious but I'm a Software Engineer not a System Administrator
(We don't have one !!)

Thanks

Kevin
