Failed in ASM disks check(PRVG-12805) for Oracle 12C Grid infrastructure installation for a cluster,

Paul ChangMar 19 2016 — edited Mar 22 2016

I tried to install Oracle 12C Grid infrastructure for a cluster on 3 nodes.

The raw disks at /dev/raw/raw* are all belonged to oracle:oinstall and mapped to /dev/emcpower*, and all raw* disks are visible to all nodes. ASMLib is not used.

Here is the detail message from Prerequisit checks.

Device Checks for ASM - This is a prerequisite check to verify that the specified devices meet the requirements for ASM.

  Check Failed on Nodes: [xxx-ecomdb3, xxx-ecomdb2,  xxx-ecomdb1]

Verification result of failed node: xxx-ecomdb3

Expected Value

: cvuqdisk-1.0.9-1

Actual Value

: cvuqdisk-1.0.9-1

Details:

-

PRVG-12805 : Device "/dev/raw/raw1" cannot be managed by the ASM Filter Driver on node "xxx-ecomdb2".  - Cause:  The indicated ASM device did not have a correct device type and hence was identified as not AFD capable.  - Action:  If you intend to use the ASM Filter Driver to manage this device, ensure that the device selected for ASM is a block device on Linux or a character device on AIX and Solaris operating system platforms.

-

PRVG-5150 : could not determine if path /dev/raw/raw1 is a valid path on all nodes  - Cause:  Attempts to identify the device referenced by the path failed.  - Action:  Ensure that the path exists on all of the nodes participating in the operation and that the user has read access to ''/etc/multipath.conf''.

Any solution or workaround for it? Thanks.
