failed adding users and groups

Hi all,
Ive been trying to add users to planning application from shared services. Ive added a user in HSS and gave Planner role to him. Now am able to see that user in workspace when i try to assign access to forms/dimensions.. am getting the error like "failed adding users and groups".

EPM system11.1.2
Have restarted the servers many times, have run the user updateutility.
