Extract data at a very fast speed

Hi all,

I am looking for a solution that can extract data at a very fast speed. What I want to do is to issue a query to a mechanism, then the mechanism can return the data (probably to a file) very fast. The query should involve several tables which have join relationships for one another.

Could you gurus give me some hints ?
