ExtJS & APEX Integration
48920May 30 2009 — edited Sep 2 2009If anyone is interested in finding out how to integrate ExtJS into APEX then it might be worthwhile following our blog over the next couple of months- [http://application-express-blog.e-dba.com/|http://application-express-blog.e-dba.com/] and we'd thought we'd also mention Mark Lancasters as well as another good point of reference - [http://oracleinsights.blogspot.com/]
Thus far, we've been able to integrate a Ext Grid into the standard report templte and still support all of the customiizations under the "Report Definition" e.g. report title, column sequence, alingment, summing, sorting, column names, html expressions, breaks, links, conditions, authorizations etc.
Our aim is focused on a purely template/theme integration so you can take adavntage of using the wizards and the customizable options post creation and not have to write another single line of javascript.. The reason we're blogging about it is because we want everyone to know that APEX is a much better product than what people give it credit for. I've seen a number of posts over time which complain how its not as good as Java etc. well we think that's complete BS. It is the most productive/flexible development tool on the market, it just takes a little thinking outside the box sometimes.
