External table log files forming themselves !

AnkitVNov 12 2013 — edited Nov 28 2013

Hi All

I am facing a weird situation.

Few days back, DB was upgraded to 11g R2 from 10g and we are facing the situation of formation of logfiles, discard files associated with External tables in the OS directory themselves !

No job is calling them, and the only procedure in which these tables have been used in SELECT statement, are not executing, even then these files are getting formed themselves and filling up the space in OS.

Here is version info :

Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production

PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.3.0 - Production

"CORE    11.2.0.3.0    Production"

TNS for IBM/AIX RISC System/6000: Version 11.2.0.3.0 - Production

NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.3.0 - Production

Please help in this regard.

Thanks.
