Exposing Reports through Web Services

The 9.0.4 documentation (B10314-01) states that Oracle Reports Web service RWWebService runJob API does not return the job output or the actual report. I have implemented a solution from a db procedure callout to the report server that returns the output via web service, but this combined with a little XSLT is a cluge. Older posts indicated that 9.0.4 would introduce exposing Reports via web services. I need to do this with several reports and I prefer to avoid my existing method.
