export using mknod

Hi all;

http://gavinsoorma.com/2009/06/export-import-using-unix-pipes-and-compression/

I jsut trying same process in my machine. It's not working for me.

What could be the reason ?

$ cat /etc/redhat-release

Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 8)

$ mknode pipe p

bash: mknode: command not found

Any help will be highly appreciated.
