Export to Excel Button instead of the Report Export link

sect55Dec 15 2009 — edited Dec 15 2009
I am using Denes Kubicek 's Export to Excel. The customer wants an Export to Excel button instead of the link in the Report Export Section of the report. So I created a button called 'Download to Excel' and created a Branch To Function Returning URL branch with a 'When Button is Pressed' condition with 'Download to Excel' and branch action is

begin
return 'f?p=&APP_ID.:0:&SESSION.:DOWNLOAD_EXCEL:NO::T_REGION_ID,T_EXCEL_NAME,T_PAGE:#REGION_ID#,MiniProfile_firms,&APP_PAGE_ID.';
end;

When I press the button I get the following Windows 'File Download' error:

Do you want to save this file, or find a program online to open it?

Name: .xls[1]
Type: Unknown File Type

Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Robert
