export german umlaut

445053Jan 17 2006 — edited Jul 5 2006
After starting a procedure which does an export into a csv file, the german Umlaute
are not written correctly. The procedure is started from a client in a ms environment,
the csv file is written on a unix system.
I tried to change the characterset with 'ALTER SESSION' , but this is not possible.

Here is the output of 'select * from v$nls_parameters' :

PARAMETER VALUE
NLS_LANGUAGE GERMAN
NLS_TERRITORY GERMANY
NLS_CURRENCY €
NLS_ISO_CURRENCY GERMANY
NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS ,.
NLS_CALENDAR GREGORIAN
NLS_DATE_FORMAT dd.mm.yyyy HH24:MI:SS
NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE GERMAN
NLS_CHARACTERSET AL32UTF8
NLS_SORT GERMAN
NLS_TIME_FORMAT HH24:MI:SSXFF

NLS_DUAL_CURRENCY €
NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET UTF8
NLS_COMP BINARY
NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS CHAR
NLS_NCHAR_CONV_EXCP FALSE

and here the output of 'select * from nls_database_parameters' :

PARAMETER VALUE
NLS_LANGUAGE AMERICAN
NLS_TERRITORY AMERICA
NLS_CURRENCY $
NLS_ISO_CURRENCY AMERICA
NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS .,
NLS_CHARACTERSET AL32UTF8
NLS_CALENDAR GREGORIAN
NLS_DATE_FORMAT DD-MON-RR
NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE AMERICAN
NLS_SORT BINARY
NLS_TIME_FORMAT HH.MI.SSXFF AM
NLS_TIMESTAMP_FORMAT DD-MON-RR HH.MI.SSXFF AM
NLS_TIME_TZ_FORMAT HH.MI.SSXFF AM TZR
NLS_TIMESTAMP_TZ_FORMAT DD-MON-RR HH.MI.SSXFF AM TZR

NLS_COMP BINARY
NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS BYTE
NLS_NCHAR_CONV_EXCP FALSE
NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET UTF8
