Exploding Pie

Apex 18.1 in the cloud

I have a pie chart as demostrated in my demo application - (details below)

When the user clicks on one of the segments of the pie, the slice 'explodes' out as per the settings attribute, Pie Selection Effect: - Highlight and Explode. Simple

However, as demostrated by the pie chart Products (master) - as soon as I add a link to the pie chart in preperation of adding a second chart for detail, I lose the exploding effect although the setting for Pie Selection Effect is correct.

Is there a way to achieve the same via javascript?
